- The Companies (Incorporation) Fifth Amendment Rules, 2019:
Through this Amendment, Sub-Rule 8 pertaining to undesirable names is substituted to classify and segregate this rule into three different rules-
a. Rule 8 (Names which resemble too nearly with name of existing company): The amendment illustrates the matters that are to be disregarded while comparing if the name applied for by a company resembles too nearly with name of existing company.
b. Rule 8A (Undesirable names): Rule 8A illustrates the list of undesirable names which are prohibited or offensive or where Company’s main business is not indicative with the proposed name etc.
c. Rule 8B (Word or expression which can be used only after obtaining previous approval of Central Government): Rule 8B includes list of words and expressions which if used in the Company’s proposed name needs Central Government’s Approval. Read more…
