Summary of the circular issued by NSE on 07/07/2022
NSE issues guidance note on disclosure of complaints in Investor Complaints Report
Regulation 13(3) of LODR Regulations requires a listed entity to file a statement indicating the number of investor complaints pending at the beginning of the quarter, those received during the quarter, disposed of during the quarter and those remaining unresolved at the end of the quarter on a quarterly basis, within 21 days from the end of each quarter.
It is to be noted that the listed company receives investor complaints from multiple sources such as SEBI SCORES, Exchanges, hardcopies, emails etc. The observation by NSE is that the information shared by the listed entity on the no. of complaints received, resolved, and pending in its Investor Complaints report is not matching with that of the data available with Exchange and SEBI SCORES.
NSE, therefore, requires the listed entity to consider all of the investor complaints received by it from various sources and disclose the same in the quarterly report. Necessary actions may be initiated against the company, if deviations are observed.
